About Huecycle

Mark HewattHi, my name is Mark Hewatt and I’m a local photographer in North Georgia. Welcome to Huecycle.com, where I showcase some of my photography for your enjoyment.

You can contact me about any photograph you see on this site. I rarely have time to place all of my favorite photographs in my gallery or, promote them like I should. In fact, sometimes you can find photography in my Flickr gallery that I’ve just not had time to create a space for here.

Marks Q&A

Why do you use the term “Experimental photography?”

Though I have a bachelor in fine arts, and have had darkroom and photography training in both high school and in college, my professional career went in another direction. My day job is focused on marketing and online content development. So I spend more time “experimenting” with photography versus pursuing it professionally.

Whats your favorite style of photography?

Honestly, I don’t have one. I know that many professional photographers will tell you to pick a style or, subject matter that your good at and stick with it. This helps you focus on one particular area and better market to that segment. But, I do this more for fun and personal enjoyment. I will dable in just about anything for a while.

As an ametuer photographer, what do you find to be the biggest technical challenge?

Time. I’ve found over the years that you can master most of the technical aspects of photography. But to find the right location, have the time to scout it out, pick the best time of day to be there, and learn more skills requires the most difficult commodity to obtain. And thats more time.

Do you have a favorite camera?

Nope. They all have something unique, I own several types. Personally, I use Pentax almost daily because I’ve invested the most in glass with this particular brand.

What format do you shoot?

RAW. Why shoot anything else? I don’t use film anymore, having that time problem again.

Do you belong to any photography groups?

Actually, though I know several who are, I’m not. I just lack the time to really get involved with many groups. Though, I do think it would help me grow as a photographer. I do have an open invitation to anyone who thinks I would like to join their group, contact me.
