08.19.2009 Blogcast – backyard creativity and urbex
The rest of the story is below the video.
Hi everybody!
This week I spent some time in my yard, walking around trying to come with some creative ideas. I took some photos of some muscadine vines hanging from a tree next to my house. It was slam full of grapes, which I was also bothered to pick a bowl full. There is a winery not too far from my house, which they use said grape to make a very sweet desert wine. Its quite good, if you like sweet wine that is.

I was originally going to drive down to Monroe (I think I’ve said this is two blogcasts now) but I can’t get motivated in this heat to travel too far from home. And with gas back up to $2.50 again, I’d rather save the dough for a more productive trip. So, I spent time scouting for more urbex destinations around town.
Contact me about prints from any of my work.
Some things I took pictures of this week.
With lots of old abandoned farm houses, and condemned property in this economy, it wasn’t to hard to find something. I located around four that I plan to check out over the next couple of weeks. I really want to go back to Green Cross, but I’m gonna wait just a little longer for the bugs and snakes to clear out.
I also noticed that the weather is (at least early in the morning) starting to cool a bit. Our house is next to a ridge that climbs up and back down towards our daughters school. At the bottom of this ridge is a river, and in the cool morning its producing a lot of fog. With the light from the morning sun at just the right angle, I can see some real potential for some great photography.
I hope you enjoy this weeks blogcast!

The guy working on the sign looks a little suspect to me. Needs to workout a little more. (and use some wrinkle cream!)
