Taking abstract photographs

Abstract spring photograph - Winder GeorgiaLate one afternoon I was out in the backyard trying to find something interesting to shoot. First I went down to the little stream in the wooded area of our yard. Then attempted to capture a few photos of birds in the trees nearby.

After about 30 minutes of this I decided that I just couldn’t find anything interesting and started to head back to the house, until a few rays of light smacked me in the face. Looking up I decided to try something with a little lense flare and shadow with that bit of light.

Kinda interesting anyway, not sure if I really like the effect or not. It could make a nice “decor” print due to its lack of central focus. If you like it you can buy a print at my Imagekind gallery. So hey, if you can’t find something interesting, look for something that you wouldn’t normally consider correct composition.

Buy this print starting at $14.24 >>

Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art. - Ansel Adams
