I spent a little time this weekend looking for new locations. Too dang hot in August here (as you know) so I only got off around 100 shots of various things. But, I stumbled upon an awesome urbex location. This spot I’d passed several times on my way to a local park, planning to stop but always missing the sharp turn I need to make to get to it.
Folks I need more expedition tips.
If you live in North Georgia feel free to give me an idea.
Well, Saturday I decided to make a deliberate stop there. It’s this old abandoned church, which up until I got there, assumed it was being cared for in some way. As I walked around the building I noticed it was collapsing and all the windows were blown out. Too bad, they were old and would have been really cool to capture light through from the inside.
It was too snaky, buggy and hot to really climb inside the building and I wasn’t prepared to spend that much time on this visit, but I got some interesting stuff. I did get swarmed by one ant mound, so I had to make a run for it towards the end of walking the perimeter of the location. And, in the wrong direction of course… I had to climb out through a blackberry bush… oh the pain.
